Laura + Mike — YSP, Yorkshire wedding photography
Although Yorkshire wedding photography is not my main area of activity – after all, my home territory is Manchester – I always enjoy trips to God’s Own Country. Beautiful sights and beautiful sounds; breathtaking coastline and myriads of historic places; finally, a sense of serenity that uniformly permeates the air – it’s all there. It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting a tiny village up north or Sheffield itself – that unmistakable feeling is there. From my point of view, Yorkshire wedding photography is always a treat.
Now, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park – an open-air gallery in West Yorkshire of epic proportions – is the epitome of Yorkshire with all its beauty. It had been hovering on my places-to-visit checklist for a while, but I never got round to put the plan to fruition (wedding photography is a rather time consuming occupation). Imagine how delighted I was when Laura – a bride-to-be, whom I had met on three separate weddings prior, asked me to be the photographer at her and Mike’s wedding and announced that the YSP is the venue of their choice!
From the point of view of a lifetime, a wedding day is but a brief moment, yet it becomes a profound landmark in it. Being a wedding photographer not only gives me the privilege of seeing that landmark in the making, but actually being a part of it.
I am extremely proud to present the making of Laura and Mike’s lifetime landmark – the first of many to come, I am sure. An amazing day in the life of two truly amazing people, with a wedding venue that is a landmark in itself. Knowing that I was the one to help them remember it better for years to come gives me the sense of pride words cannot describe.
