Kim + Jon — Harry Potter wedding, Wedding photography in Manchester
When one hears the words “Wedding photography in Manchester”, one usually imagines post-industrial architecture and references to the Gallagher brothers. No wonder – Manchester offers a plethora of atmospheric vistas featuring tall, narrow alleyways slithering among defunct factories that can make stunning backgrounds for aptly-themed weddings, while the origin of Oasis, along with numerous other world-renown bands, is obvious to anyone born after 1820. Post-industrialism and rock – this is Manchester in a nutshell.
If one were to visit a Mancunian wedding, however, one would be surprised to find the mood of the event shifted in a completely different direction. Mancunians, as a community, like to rebel against the mundane, the norm, the cliche, and what some may call a “typical Mancunian wedding” is actually a rare occurrence. Things were no different in the case of Kim and Jon’s wedding.
I can’t even begin to describe how utterly epic Kim and Jon’s Harry Potter wedding was. Kim and Jon, both fans of the titular wizard and his adventures, put a lot of effort into transforming their venue into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You could see this on every step: the decorations, the props, the clothes – everything, from the cuff-links down to the wedding cake looked as if it were magically transported from the world of J. K. Rowling’s books; and speaking of the wedding cake – it was, without a word of a lie, a true masterpiece – but you’ll be able to see it for yourself on the photographs below.
All I have to say is that wedding photography in Manchester gained a brand new meaning on this day, and I am really happy I was a part of it.
P.s. A thing worth mentioning on its own was Kim and Jon’s special request -a duel photo similar the final fight between Harry and Voldemort: wands, magic, bright lights etc. I think we nailed it. I don’t usually Photoshop my photos, but when I do…
